Bandung Conference, 1955

The Asian-African Conference, was held in Bandung, Indonesia in April 1955 and was attended by representatives from 29 newly independent Asian and African countries. The conference aimed to promote Afro-Asian economic and cultural cooperation, and to oppose colonialism or neocolonialism by either the United States or the Soviet Union in the Cold War context.
